Being a vegeno

I call my self a vegano because I do not eat meat but I do eat dairy and eggs. I have tried to get my family to become vegenos to but its so hard. I never really buy meat to bring in the house, if Ricks wants some he can go buy it. Trying to get my boys to stay away from meat is very interesting. A few nights ago I made taco's with veggie crumbles meat and Jordon said is this real meat? I said no, he said I HATE BEING A VEGITARION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was so funny and it made me think. When we are out at a restaurant the boys always ask for a plate with meat. A few days ago Rick made burgers on the grill I had a veggie burger, the boys walked up and said is that real meat or fake? Rick said real and they ran in and said mom we get real meat. A few days ago Ricks Dad took us out to lunch and Austin wanted these two mini hot dogs which he always asks for when we go to Denny's, this time I said ok and he jumped up and down saying yes!!!!!!! I decided right then that at home I will not serve meat but when they are out at a restaurant or out at school they are old enough to make there own choices. I will just teach them healthy ways of eating and hope they choose healthy foods even if they want meat from time to time. I will will never get that out of my head- I HATE BEING A VEGITARION!

Hahahaha! This made me laugh so hard! I can just see your boys asking is this real mom? lol! I like meat, but I have a hard time eating it if I cook it. I know that sounds weird, but I hate preparing it and I'm always second guessing it hoping it'll be cooked all the way! For some reason though I can eat meat at other houses or restaurants and I absolutely love it! I don't think I could eat veggie burgers.. :-P

I ate a burger Jen. A real one. I think we'll eat it occasionally and I'll buy it from whole foods because they have strict ethical guidlines with their local farmers. Humanely treat, no antibiotics or hormones and they are on real farms instead of factories. You boys are so funny. If they didn't ask, half the time they wouldn't even be able to tell. :)
